Curriculum and Standards

St. Mary's School, one of the more than 200 elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, uses a rich and varied curriculum based on the California State Standards, Common Core State Standards for English/Language Arts and Mathematics, and Archdiocesan Standareds for Religion.

The faculty of St. Mary's School blends the best of traditional teaching practices and expectations with current research for best practices to prepare our students for high school and beyond.  This approach combines basic facts and knowledge with problem solving and critical thinking skills.
